Did UW forget about me?

So i asked this question a while ago, and I was given the answer that UW was going to make their decisions by the end of march/first few days of April, fine. Well it's now the first few days of april and my application hasn't been advanced past this;

Your application for admission as a Freshman student to the University of Washington for autumn quarter 2006 was entered in our data base on December 2, 2005.

The status of your application was last updated on December 30, 2005.

All materials required to review your application have been received. Your application has been advanced to the full review process, and will remain in this status until decisions become available. When a decision is made, you will be notified via postal mail.

Should I call the admissions office and see what the deal is?

i would give them a couple more days, im in the same position. It says the status of my app was last updated Jan. 11, so hopefully they're still working on the applications

^ yes.. mine saids the same thing as you.. i stopped checking online bcuz im waiting for the official letter.. whether good / bad

mine was updated march 16th. i don't think i'm going to wait anymore because i want to get good housing in the other uni :(

well yea same here...but i got in UIUC so thinking of goin there

Hey, is UDup extra slow with the decisions this year? Except for one guy who was rejected out right, no one I know has heard from Washington yet.

I think so. UW is viewing applications hollistically now. That means they need more time to review approximately 20,000 applications. Geez!

other unis could do it much faster!

well.... i got waitlisted. I got the letter today..... man this sucks.

I think other universities have much more experience doing this. UW is so slow. They should really have rolling admission starting in September or something.

The administration/bureaucracy at UW seems to be pretty unhelpful this year, but I'm not sure whether they are generally unhelpful or if it is a result of the new approach to application review process. I guess I'll see how it really works if I attend next year.

Does this hollistic approach actually help applicants or kill? It seems like its rejecting people with decent stats who lack EC's.

it just goes to show you that you can't shut yourself into a room for 4 years and study nonstop. i think UW is looking for well-rounded people who aren't defined by their grades, ap classes and test scores. even if it takes longer to review the applications, they are admitting people that deserve to be admitted even if their stats aren't 100%. its seems fair and i'm glad they are embracing this new method.

yeh i know multiple people that were admitted in december, i was admitted early january

^ i just got a letter today from UW and they've put me on their waiting list.. but what sucks is that they'll all let their waiting list applicants know before AUGUST 1st??!! what! oh well .. good thing its not a rejection yet

Wow August 1st? I'm sorry to hear that. What were your stats?
