<p>Back in high school, after preparing for quite a bit, I scored a 2270 on the SAT (760M, 740CR, 770W). I now go to a top 20 school and am looking to begin thinking about preparing for the GMAT. </p>
<p>I have purchased the official guide for the GMAT so far. Is there anything else I need, or can I get away with just this material?</p>

So, I would recommend that you start with a practice test to see how far you are from your goal score. You can get two free when you download the free gmat prep software from GMAC at mba.com
Depending on how far away you are from your goal score, the OG guides may or may not be enough. Usually, they are not, because while they are great for practice questions they are not the best for content. There are a lot of math and grammar rules to learn for the gmat, so you might want to look into buying a comprehensive strategy guide set or a course. If you aren’t aiming for a 700+, however all that might not be necessary.
