it's the end of the world?

No, that's ridiculous. Of course, it's disappointing not to get into your first choice, but it's not the end of the world. My first choice was Brown, but, being waitlisted, I reminded myself of the good colleges I did manage to get into.

My boyfriend feels like that for a very difficlut to get into college in India.

He's been claiming all year thet he'll jump from the top of the tallest building in our city if he doesn't make it!

Personally i think its so much luck that you'd be stupid to give something like college admission that much importance in life.

haha, shreya.ittk. i totally agree with you. or at least, i'm trying to. =]

I'm not sure if you were joking but if your boyfriend really has been saying this all year I would talk with him further about this, and possibly let someone know who he trusts. sometimes people really mean these things. I hope you don't mind my offering this concern. kind regards,
Linda

I used to feel like that. I'd go around talking about how if I don't get into XYZ school, I don't know what I'll do!! Then I grew up and realized, college admissions...are not that crucial

not the end of the world, but very upsetting. i go by the quote everything happens for a reason though. my bro got rejected from his dream school Duke, and ended up going to Northwestern and meeting his now wife.
