Did You Write That Essay?? alone?

er... my SAT essay has terrible grammar, mispellings and rather shallow supporting details. My college essay don't. why? well because SAT essay was 25 mins, and the college essay took me well over 10 hrs including draft time.

But don't you think there would be some similarity. I'm sure there are cases where not. But in general I think its a good idea. Everyone who takes the SAT has to write the essay. But not everyone who writes essays for college pays for advisors or has it edited a million times. I still hold that you could tell the difference- especially as the admissions officer has your transcript in their hand- just look at the English/writing grades.

wow interesting post.
i dont know, do UCs do this also? they receive an incredible number of applicants

"questions about writer aptitude," not about whether it was the writer's own work. An unedited 25-minute muse on human nature is going to be much different from a labored-over anecdote used as a college essay, that much should be obvious. The vocabulary of my essay v. my SAT response, for instance, is drastically different.

This is such b.s. My 25 minute SAT essay looks entirely different from my college essays because I put time, effort, and thought into those college essays. They sound like they came from entirely different writers. This is crap. I wish they would just look at English grades and the writing SAT score instead of looking at the actual essay.
