Should I feel bad?

Not really.

I didn’t and I don’t feel bad, especially because all of my classmates were whining about “how much work it is” to actually become a member.

Definitely don’t want to be a part of a “society” where people are going to complain about it like that.

Only a little bit, and then you should realize that you’re probably gonna do things in your life that are way more important than having your name listed in the midst of a fairly unimportant organize, and then you can get over it :)

What is NHS?

I got into NHS before probably even your parents were born (meaning long, long ago), and it didn’t make a big difference in where I went or what I do. Focus on other activities that you enjoy and that you do well, and of course classes at school! (:+) Of course it will sting a little bit, but don’t let it get to you.

I hope NHS = National Honor Society.

Yup, the same NHS.

@Foodlover001; at my school, you got the invitation if you had an 88 or higher in all of your classes throughout HS, though they changed it starting this year to a 90 and grandfathered the class of 2013 in.

NHS acceptance criteria vary greatly throughout the country, and at many schools acceptances are highly, highly subjective. Just move on - you will find many other more worthwhile activities.

Thanks for the support!

Don’t worry about it at all. I have several friends who got accepted to Cornell but were rejected from NHS

Mope for a while(check) and then get over it. It’s just another competitive, stress inducing club–there are plenty others to take its place.

At my hs, not only do you need to be honor roll, you also have to hold a few leadership roles, which is the main problem for us braniac, charisma-deficient people.

ahh NHS–another tryhard club

It’s not even that important lol. U can just do it next year

120 people accepted in my school, 16 declined. Of course for some unknown reason I was one. People asked if I was joking at first, unfortunately I wasn’t.

Wow! You guys actually have to apply for NHS at your school’s? At my school you only need a 3.5 GPA to get in and stay in (easy I know).

Yeah, at my school you need a 4.0 weighted GPA + hours/leadership positions/blahblahblah based on a points system to get in, then you need 20 individual hours and 3 group hours per semester to remain in, as well as attend almost all the meetings, events, and have no disciplinary issues.

usually my school accept a GPA rating a little to high for my reach (I have 3.1 the requirement is like 3.4+ or smething). But really I didn’t really care as my main focus was just to get good grades not join a club.

Don’t worry about it (: If you want to do it, just do some community service this summer and work hard in school and you can apply next year
