diff in majoring in biochemistry in chem vs. bio department?

Hey everyone.... so apparently columbia has 2 biochemistry majors... one in the chemistry department and another in the biology department..... aside from the fact that the requirements are different (biology department has like 7 less courses required and diff course choices)... what's the difference?

Biology Department Biochemistry: Biochemistry Major Requirements

Chemistry Department Biochemistry:
Chemistry | Columbia College

Most likely I'm going to go to medical school but on the offhand if I don't... what's why I'm majoring in biochemistry, so I'll have more choices... otherwise I'd just major in biology.

P.S. does anyone have a link to a listing of degrees and amount of degrees awarded by Columbia university to some graduating class?

Look here for details on degrees awarded:

how hard is the courseload if your majoring in Econ and maintaining a relatively high GPA?

^ This isn’t really the place to ask this.
