I need to get a new prep book (that I'll actually use) for the September date. What's the difference between these two?

ACT 36 is much smaller and focuses on what it thinks are the hardest topics…ACT is a big consolidated book to the whole test

I got the Barron’s ACT 36, and it SUCKED. It was obviously directed towards students who were making 20s without it, because its suggestions were completely elementary. Do NOT waste your money on it. Not sure about the other.

This isn’t barron but I recommend the Princeton Review 1296 book and the Sparknotes ACT online prep. I used both of them and scored very well (in my opinion). Having used a Barron book for my Math SAT II I found it was way too hard and opted to study from my precal book instead.

Do you mind me asking what your score was?

I’ve gotten 31 w/ writing past 2 times and I need to bring this up. Any personal suggestions? I already have the Real ACT prep guide and have done 2 of the tests. I have 1 more left for the next ACT. And I’m getting the PR practice test book too!

3 books is more or less $30. Better than having to retake it an extra time I guess.

Don’t get either get Princeton Review 1296 practice questions for the ACT. Although there are some typos, the questions are challenging.
