Difference Between EDI and EDII?

What’s the difference? If u apply to another school ED can u do EDII for other schools? How does it work? How is EDII compared to EA? Thanks

Any kind of ED is binding. If you are accepted, you have to go provided they give you enough financial aid (and they decide if it is enough). EA is not binding. The rules for how many colleges you can apply to are the fine print. Some ED's will allow you to also apply EA to other schools (but nowhere else ED), and others won't. You have to read the rules for each college and not violate anything anywhere.

Some colleges have two rounds of ED with different application dates, thus EDI and EDII.

ED was originally intended as a way for people to get the whole thing over early provided they knew 100% where they wanted to attend. Because it is somewhat easier to be admitted ED, some applicants are now using it as an admissions strategy (as in: If I don't apply ED somewhere, I won't get accepted anywhere). This is probably a bad thing. It is not easier to be admitted EA than it is during RD.

Don't apply ED anywhere if you also plan to apply for financial aid because you give up the ability to compare FA packages, and you could bind yourself to an outrageous payment.
