Difference Between Informatics and Computer Science?

<p>I have been trying to look all over the internet for this answer, but have been unable to find an answer. The title says it all. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between Informatics and Computer Science?</p>

<p>I am thinking of changing my major to something in the ICS department at UC irvine. I am unsure though, which one I would like to choose as I am unable to discern the difference between either.</p>

<p>Alot of people refer Informatics to 'Girl' Computer Science...Hahaha.</p>
