My school starts in 2 weeks and my math professor just changed his mind and sent out an email saying that instead of online work, we’ll need a textbook. He assigned the 14th edition of Viewing Life Mathematically from 2014. The book from my university store is between $60-$80, depending on if I can get a used one, but I can get them on eBay for $30-$60. However, the listings on eBay don’t say the isbn number, but they do say the publication date is 2016. I was just wondering how risky it would be to get the cheaper one and hope it’s not too different, or just pay a little more and have it ready to pick up when I move in.
Some other sites list the 2016 edition with these ISBNs:
ISBN13: 9781935782056
ISBN10: 1935782053
The publishers site at https://hawkespublishing.stores.yahoo.net/vilimateon.html is selling the 1st edition.
Are you certain there are that many editions? The “1st edition” at the publisher site is the same ISBN13 as the “2016 edition” listed above and the same as the “2011” edition at https://www.directtextbook.com/isbn/9781935782056
The only “14th” I can find is at https://www.facultybooks.com/books/isbn/9781941552247.html, which is software/electronic book
Perhaps contact the professor to clarify.
