<p>For my math 234 class it says the required book is Calculus for business the tenth edition, but i keep only finding 9th editions because the tenth just came out this year. If I buy the 9th edition will it really matter?? Plus the 9th is cheaper...</p>
<p>Honestly its hard to say, sometimes the there really are very few differences between newer and older editions. Most of these publishers just re issue new editions every 1-2 years just so they can charge $130 to everyone who thinks they have to buy the new text. My suggestion, ask your professor, as long as they arent the ones who authored it, they will always be helpful in telling you whether or not you need the new edition. You dont need your books right away, so theres still time.</p>

<p>Yeah, especially for freshman, youll have a good week before hw is assigned is most classes. Be careful though, there are 3 main bookstores on campus, TIS, Illini Union Bookstore, and Follett’s and they can run out very quickly. It could be a few weeks before they get new textbooks in, so don’t wait too long, ask the professor after the first lecture you have.</p>
<p>Worse comes to worse, there are book trading sites where you just meet with people in person and buy their used books for cheap, but its all handled by the people involved, kind of unofficial.</p>

<p>So Vigilent, do you know the quality of the “unapproved” books on the Illini Book Exchange? Are there too many marks on them or even any missing pages?Thanks</p>
<p>I mean they will pretty much be the same quality used texts that you find at the bookstores, its just that youre doing the buying directly from students. Usually with sites like those, the seller will describe the condition of the book. When you meet them to buy it you can inspect it yourself, but generally having some writing in the book is worth saving 60-70 dollars over the new text.</p>
