Differences Between the Penn's Programs? (and chances)

What are the differences between the admissions rate to the various Coordinated Dual degree programs at Penn? And for the single degrees?

I'm highly interested in all of the CDD programs, so it would be nice to know which one I would have the best chance to get into. If not a CDD program, I would prefer to apply to Wharton, though I also am wondering about my chances with CAS and SEAS. I will probably be applying ED.

Unweighted GPA: 3.9X
Weighted GPA: IDK I know it's 4.X on a 5.0 scale

SAT: 2350 (CR:800 M:780 W:770) (one time)

ACT: Not Taken

SAT Subject: Not Taken Yet

AP Scores: WH-5, AP Phys B-4, so far.

PSAT: 240 so I'm probably getting National Merit

Rank: Top 1% or 2%

Intended Major: Finance? Not really sure yet.

I'm a junior in Bellevue, Washington (near Seattle). Both my parents have graduate degrees, though both are immigrants from China. I'm a US citizen by birth.

My schedule for this year (junior) is:
AP Calc BC
APUSH
AP Phys C Mech
Marketing and Business
French 3
AP Chem
AP Lang

I've gotten all A's so far, with the exception of a B in Calc BC last semester. I'm thiking that might hurt some, especially since it's in a math class.

EC:
200+ hours of community service with an unpaid environmental internship over 2 years. We teach mostly elementary school children though it isn't rare for us to teach adults either at more seminar style events. We also monitor and restore the environment.
Model UN: President
Chess Club: President
Knowledge Bowl: President
Student Newspaper: Writer
Piano: I'm terrible at it
Other Stuff: I've applied to the Bank of America Student Leaders though I haven't heard back yet. I'm also planning to apply as a Congressional Page.
Recs:
I could probably get good recs from most of my teacher, especially APUSH and AP Lang. Those 2 are probably my top classses. I could probably also get a solid one from my Calc teacher since even though my performance in the class wasn't great, he's the advisor for chess club and he's highly involved, so he knows me pretty well.

I'm very interested in international affairs, biology, politics, and business, hence my inability to decide on a CDD to apply to though frankly, I'm reasonably sure I won't even get in. I'm also bilingual and can speak Chinese fluently, though I'm more or less illiterate. I'm currently taking French. I'm assuming Huntsman has some pretty high foreign language requirements.

The dual degree programs with Wharton (Vagelos LSM, M&T, Huntsman, and Health Care Management with Nursing haven’t met too many in this one) are all very unique programs so I don’t really understand how one could seriously be considering all of them. LSM combines biological sciences with business potentially in healthcare or biotechnology, Huntsman is International Relations and Business, and Fisher is engineering and business (many people choose computer science as there second major but I have also heard of people doing bioengineering and chemical engineering). The dual degree programs are all very rigorous, you have to take a significantly heavier course load to graduate in four years. If you apply to a dual degree program, you can choose either of the schools it is in (CAS or Wharton for LSM, Wharton or SEAS for M&T) as a backup because it is very hard to get into these programs because there are not that many spots.

Sorry, my question was phrased incorrectly. I’m asking for more details about each so I can eventually make a decision. Anyways, thanks for the info.

Hi Robert, I was recently admitted into Penn’s M&T Class of 2015 (Jerome Fisher). It is the cordinated dual degree program with Wharton and the Engineering school. On your Penn supplement, you can choose if you want to be considered for a dual-degree program. You can only select to apply to one of them; all you have to do is write a supplemental essay that basically says why you want to combine whatever 2 fields the program targets. So for M&T the essay was something along the line of why do you want to pursue business and engineering simultaneously and why is M&T the exact program you’re looking for as an undergraduate student. Because of the competitive nature of the dual-degree programs, you get to select one of your 2 schools (so for M&T, Wharton or Engineering) as a back up for single degree. If you apply ED, you can select to be considered for your single degree school if you’re admitted into the dual degree program. Or you can check the box that says to move my application to RD if not admitted early to a dual-degree program.

You can find a lot about the individual programs online. If you have any questions on the application process (btw your stats look pretty awesome!) or M&T, feel free to PM me.
