god I know this probably belongs in another category but I just know that more people look at this one more than any of the others. Anyway...
I thought it was OKAY when my mom was limiting me to 4 college choices: UCLA, UCB, UCSD, and UCI since those were the only one's I would ever consider, but then I overheard my dad saying that he wants me to only apply to UCLA and UCI. His reasoning is that since i'm guaranteed admission to UCI because of ELC I don't have to worry about getting into a college or not and therefore should only apply to UCLA as an alternative. I don't want to go to UCI though because it's the one ALL MY FREAKING COUSINS went to and no offense but I'm better than any of them were at my age. I had always hoped that if I didn't get into UCLA I could at least go to Berkeley or San Diego but my dad doesn't want to pay possible higher tuition fees since he's learned that graduate schools don't care so much what college you come from if it's not IVY league.

Anyway my real question is how much is the cost difference (tuition and room and board fees) for those four colleges? If it's a lot is it worth the difference? I feel like my parents are ruining my future!

If you go to each school's web site, you can find out how much each school costs.
They are all within a couple of thousand of each other.
Since you are an ELC, you have a great chance at all the UCs.
Davis might be the cheapest, but again not by much.

ELC means Eligibility in the Local Context: guaranteed admission to at least one mid-tier UC for those in the top 4% of their high school graduating class.

I think if he limits to two do UCSD and UCB. Because UCSD accepted 86 percent of ELC last year. Your bound to get in if your stats are similar to or are better than UCSD average.

I don't think you should apply to Irvine. I'd go for UCSB. Irvine seems like a commuter school to me, and I mean you'd be overshadowed by UCLA which is like 40 minutes away.
