different education system, what to do!

hiii. Has anybody here got any idea how colleges liek dartmouth consider international students who havent studied in the american education system??

like its totally different here in india. we dont have ranks, we also have percentages system and not gpa, and a gpa of 3.5/4 is nto equal to 87.5 % ( as many people believe , by 3.5/4 * 100 )

you knw, how do they accomodate the differences in level and the course?? if anybody has any idea it would really be appreciated.

Hey, I'm from new delhi.
We just have to report our percentages, and in the school report it has to be mentioned that we dont use ranking n gpa.

hiyya spidey! i mean the AIEEE exam in a former thread! and yah, am from ne wdelhi too! are you studying at dartmouth right now??

and i know that we have to send em our percentages, but what i was thinking is that you know, the indian educational system is harder in a different way than the american way, there are some major differences, so you knw, how do they reconcile that??

coz getting gpa and percentages cannot really be converted into each other directly through mathematics.

Also, do the colleges consider the differences in the educational systems while making a decision??

Oh man, I remember you. :)

Don't convert. D would be quite familiar with the Indian system. And yes, colleges will definitely consider the differences in the educational systems while evaluating your application.

lol you remember me ?? i have been back liek almost 6 months! sorry lol, but i dunno you, i did have a fight with someone here though! i duno if u r one of them, but hey thats ok! anewayz tetris thanxs for replying !
