The Common Application should generally be completed once, with identical copies sent to all colleges. You should create a new version if you wish to correct an error discovered after submission or provide new information not available when you first submitted the application. It is not necessary to "customize" your Common Application for individual colleges. Individual college supplements and supplemental essay questions should be used to provide special information to different colleges.

how would this be done? Son wanted to change an part of the essay for another school after submitting to a previous school, but the upload button is disabled.

Hey, so that means I can add more than 20 college to my school list of choice rite?

I’m a HS senior applying to colleges via the common app. I need to create an alternate version of my common app and I’ve followed the directions that the person above found, but I have one huge question…where is the “Replicate” button?? I’ve followed the special link and everything and followed everything that the directions said, but I cannot seem to find that button for the life of me, and it’s really stressing me out. Please help!!

I don’t remember exactly, since I did this a while ago, but I think the Replicate button is on the new version of the common app that you just created, on the top of the page next to help/account/log in. I remember having to search for it as well like that.
