<p>My school is really weird in the sense that it's a cursed school. Every year, my counselor leaves for "bigger and better things" or gets pregnant. This has happened every single year since Freshman year.... That puts me in a very uncomfortable position because I don't know who to ask for a letter of recommendation for college. This year (senior year) we have another new counselor who I've met once to change my schedule... She doesn't really know me or anything. Am I screwed? Is there anyone else I can ask in place of a college counselor? Thanks.</p>

<p>Oh, my, GOD. Same situation here too. I thought I was the only one with this problem.</p>
<p>These situations aren't common. Nor are the schools where counselors have huge case loads that don't permit them to know their students well.</p>
<p>Your counselor should fill out the school form, which includes a rec. Most mention how long they've known the student, what capacity, etc.</p>
<p>You obviously will want to have a supplemental recommendation from a teach who knows you better.</p>
