Hey. I was just wondering what to do about reporting SAT scores in the "Tests" section of the common app. Some of my schools are not accepting score choice, but others are. Do u think it would be a good idea to just list my "score-choiced" test history on the common app, and then send the extra scores (via collegeboard) to only the schools that want them?

I don't want to seem like im "hiding" scores from some schools, but at the same time, I want to use score-choice at the schools that accept it. Thanks for your help

Kurz-It’s a good question. We’re thinking that it makes sense to change the scores on the Common Application based on the schools we send to. For example, for a school that allows score choice, include only the scores you want to send to that particular school on the Common Application and the scores you choose to send from College Board will match. For schools who “opt out” of score choice, send a Common Application to that school which includes all your scores and it will also match up with what you have College Board send.

Do you have to put down the scores on the Common App? Let’s say I want to fill out the Common App. and submit, but am planning on taking some tests later. Can one leave the testing section blank and then submit scores directly from College Board?

Pyro-I’m just exploring this, but it seems that you can put different things on different versions for different schools. You can’t alter one after you send to a particular school, but I can’t see why you couldn’t make different versions for specific schools.

@tokdoc–
If you figure out whether a person can have two different versions of the common app on one account will you please start a new thread explaining it? I wondered whether one person could have two accounts, but this would be a better solution. Thank you so much!

Sunny-I’m almost sure my understanding is correct. You can tailor each Common Application to the school you intend to send to. The only time you can’t alter what you put on the app is after you’ve submitted to a certain school.

Here you go: May I customize my application for each school? Yes. After submitting the First-Year Common Application to College #1, you click on the Common Application link in the left-hand menu. You will see information about the application you have already submitted (named Original). You should click on the Replicate link to make an alternate version of your submitted application. When this is complete, a second version will be visible on your screen and a special drop down list that will appear in the upper right corner of your application. You can use this drop down to move between application versions.

tokdoc is right, basically you have to fully complete the common app for one school then there will be the option of creating a new version where you can edit anything entered. This allows you to change your essays or scores.
