Difficulties with Dr. Chung's SAT Math

I know Dr. Chung's is a rather controversial book on here, but I still decided to give it a try as it was said to be the best book for people going for 800's. Yet, due to the rather high level of difficulty, I tend to miss 2-3 questions per section getting scores around the 680-740 range while being pressed for time throughout. So, my question is: Did most people struggle this much with Dr. Chung's and still manage to get 800's on the actual math section?

I understand for certain books like Barron's (and Dr. Chung's) the questions are much harder, so it's difficult to gauge where I'm at in terms of preparation. I would take the practice tests in the Blue Book but I'm trying to save them for last...

Thanks!

bumpppppppp can anybody add some input?

Take real timed tests to determine your expected score.

The value proposition of the book is very low. If one could --in theory-- acquire a couple of additional tips by perusing the early part of the book, the test section is hopeless and should be avoided. Stick to officially released tests and move on. The same applies to all source books, but it so happens that the Chung book is simply one of the worst in its genre.
