Dilemma in selecting a college

I have got admission in the schools of Engineering of five colleges. Four of them are in-state in Virginia and fifth one is George Washington in DC. I am a Virginia resident.
I have narrow down my choices to two colleges only VCU and UVA. VCU has given me a substantial scholarship while at UVA I (my parents ) have to mostly pay from our pocket.
Right now, I am not really clear about the what engineering program I will go into. However, I have a strong aptitude for Mathematics. So I guess, computer Science ( Electrical/Computer Engineering ) would be a good choice for me.
Whatever field of Engineering I pursue, my plans are to go for graduate school. So, my question are:

  1. If I choose VCU for my undergraduate degree in Computer Science ( Electrical/Computer Engineering ), will I be prepared for the graduate program in other renowned universities? That means I would like to compare the the quality of instruction and the depth of engineering program.
  1. Does the name of university where one gets the undergraduate degree from matter when it comes to seeking admission in the graduate program in more renowned universities?
  2. Are there marked differences in the undergraduate Engineering program at VCU and UVA? or UVA is just selling the name? Since may 1 is the deadline, any thought on these questions will be of great help in making the selection.

Short answer is yes. If you want to look at the depth of the program then look at the course listing and how often things are offered.

Usually not. Certainly not in engineering.

You’ll need to look at course listings between the two for differences. UVA is one of the top Public Us in the country but TB
