Dilemma: Summer science program

Hey guys! I've taken advanced math classes all years of high school, but so far my grades have all been B's (usually borderline A/B agh, but that's not what this is about). I was lazy, and I really regret it.

I really want to do any sort of research/science program over summer, but with these grades I'm not sure who will take me. I'm aiming to earn an A this semester, but that freshman/sophomore streak...Any suggestions? This is a pretty strange case. :/

Side note: I have straight A's in science, excellent PSAT/SAT, no research experience, but I think I can write some pretty good essays? I've been looking forward to research since freshman year.

You probably could have applied for research earlier (you said you were looking forward to it since freshman year). I know there are programs for younger kids (I attended one), but maybe you had other things going on. Anyway, I don’t think that would single-handedly kill your application. I would recommend applying to all the programs you are interested in and hope for the best!
