I was in Spanish 3 during my first nine-weeks last year. I switched out of it to be in AP Physics. I am looking at top schools that highly recommend 3-4 years of Spanish. All we did in that class was sit around and do nothing. It was a waste of time. I ended up doing well in my Physics class. Did I make a mistake? Is it going to hurt me that I only have 2 years of a language or will colleges understand that it was a waste of time to stay in Spanish? Thanks for any input.

No, and that’s not something your GC can/will comment on. How about taking it this year?

It is the same teacher. I would much rather be in a more rigorous course.

bump???

Please note that these colleges/universities “recommend” rather than “require”. You chose to pursue AP Physics (and presumably other equally challenging courses) rather than foreign language. This is perfectly OK. Other students would have chosen to follow a foreign language heavy program, and would have not taken Physics. That is OK too. What matters is that YOU chose the best program for YOURSELF from what is available at YOUR high school.

bump…?
