Is anyone taking the new york busss??

I'm coming from Manchester. God, I foresee all of us being timid and afraid to talk to one another. Heh I'm sure it won't be like that

i'm flying (on a plane)

as opposed to... on a flying carpet? =)

just making sure there's no confusion ;o)

Visions of Sonic, on his flying carpet (Green of course), winging his way to Dimensions.
Flying carpet vs Atlanta airport - that's a non-starter, go for the flying carpet.

heck yes, Atlanta's airport is a nightmare on its best days. Waaay too crowded. It's all Delta's fault.

(and I'm a girl lol)

Sorry, Sonic for the sex change, living in Lower Alabama, as you've probably heard before, even the dead from here are routed through Atlanta on their way to the afterlife ;). I'm very familiar with Hartfield or Jackson or whatever they call it these days!

haha Hartfield-Jackson is the new name.

Actually two years ago, my family was going to Yellowstone. We got cheap tickets from Birmingham to Salt Lake City. So we had to drive to Birmingham, take a plane back to Atlanta, and then fly to SLC. It was ridiculous. And then the exact opposite on the way back.

Conlan, You will have a great time on the bus, as you willhave a few hours which to 'bond' with the other 09s before you get to Hanover. There wil lbe other people checking in and you can coordinate meeting up with them at Penn Station.Look at it this way, you will be the one who probably knows the most people when you get there.

Ha! Sonic you ought to send that story into the guy in Atlanta with "Saving Money" radio show - Guy Howard, what is his name in Atlanta? We have some dear friends in Atl, who listen to him and talk about some of the funnier ideas he has mentioned about saving travel dollars. You'll have to meet DD at Dimensions - she will be hard to miss.

Clark Howard! hahahaha yes that's who my mom got the idea about the tickets from! He's been the inspiration for almost every trip we've taken in the past ten years.

I'm taking the New York bus. I live near New Haven so I am getting on there. My friend and possibly another friend will be with me. :)

How did you guys hear about this New York bus? Did they tell you when you registered for Dimensions?

I'm taking the New York bus - getting picked up in Darien. Can't wait to meet you guys!!

takeheart: I received a likely letter from Dartmouth, so I got an email inviting me to dimensions in early March. That email also told me about the bus. There is also a bus from Boston.

twinklestar - do you know what side of the Darien train station the bus picks people up from? Northbound or South?

Yeah Sonic, (I know I'm hijacking, sorry guys) we went to Houston for spring break, and needed to fly because of timing issues. we were going out of Gulfport because it was less expensive, but one Gulfport flight routed us Gulfport - Cincinnati - Houston - what the??? Another sent us, guess where?! Gulfport - Atlanta - Houston!!

CLark Howard's website does have some pretty good ideas, all you young travellers out there, some are a little flaky, but if it is a family trip with 3-4 tickets to be bought instead 1, every little bit helps!

your trip sounds very familiar. :) oh well, it really does help save money, even if you are a bit inconvienienced.
