Dining Hall Take Out

With my schedule it looks like it may be better to get my food for take out. I've noticed the take-out boxes if the dining halls, but I was wondering if there is an extra charge to use these boxes. Thanks.

don’t think so…very common, especially on focus dates. Try to go and eat there as much as you can, to hang out with people from your dorm, or meet people there for dinner.

I don’t think so either. DS has been bringing yogurt, fruit, milk and all kinds of things back to his fridge for days. He probably would have noticed if there was an extra charge.

No there isn’t a charge, but warning here the food can make your room smell stale real quick since there isn’t a lot of ventilation.

Actually, there is a charge. It’s $.25 for every take out container that you use. It’s supposed to encourage people to eat in and help in UMD’s shift towards going green and everything. I’ve gotten carry out at both the Diner and South Campus on multiple occasions and they do charge, although most students don’t really tend to look at what they’re being charged for (I know I don’t most of the time!).
