thanks

ur chances dont look good.

Never say never anything can happen. Write the essay of your life!

im really sry about everything youve been thru man. heres what i think u need to do:

-get that sat score up to 2100+ and if you cant significantly raise ur sat ii scores as well than get ur ACT score to at least 32 and just send that (with some major studying its not hard to improve on the ACT)
-get ur counselor to include the circumstances that affected your performance in school in his rec
-write an amazing essay that ties the pain u endured to why you want to become a doctor

if you can do everything mentioned above then really your only weakness would be your grades which will probably be excused if you show a comeback. also i wouldn't send ur ap scores since they aren't great but also aren't a huge deal when it comes to admission. ur ec's look really good though w/all that leadership.

good luck!

You can apply, I do not think you have any chance. Both GPA and scores have to be much higher. A lot "top of class" with high scores and working experience at med research lab. and other EC's get rejected before interview. That is if you want a true opinion. I strongly advise to apply regular route and make sure that you get as close to GPA=4.0 in college as possible.

thanks for all the help guys, i really appreciate it. do you think that if i got a D it would hurt me evn more? I got a D my first sem junior year in stats and b the next.but i got a b in physics the first and a d in the second. besides that rest are Bs wit one C each sem. Also, i heard that if you take the ACT, SAT 2 scores rnt required. is tht true? thanks

Dude...no offense, but the D's will kill you. in this kind of a competitive program, even B's hurt. Once you start getting C's and D's, that's really bad. You can apply, just realize that getting in will be an extremely long uphill battle. Even with what you have had to go through.

Some accept ACT instead of SAT 2 + SAT. Some others require certain SAT II. I bet you all of people who apply to BS/MDs have taken them, they are just type of students that take SAT II's anyway. I am sorry to discourage you, but save yourself from great dissapointments. My D. got only into 3 BS/MDs out of 6 that she applied. I described her stats in a previous post. She was very average among BS/MD applicants.

You might want to consider going to college first, doing well & preparing for the application to med school.

Umm, I don't think the BS/MD path is right for you. I know I said in another thread just apply and see what happens. However, in your case, you are well below the bar. The whole leukemia this is rather unfortunate, but it most definitely will have little effect on your chances. Just go for the regular route and try your best.
