I had a few questions about Direct Hits. First of all, is it the best book out there for the Critical Reading section or do you guys recommend something else? For the Critical Reading section, will Direct Hits help me in the passages as well if I do not understand a word in those types of questions? Or does it solely focus on helping you improve on the fill-in-the-blank type of questions? Also, which volume do you guys recommend? Thank you.

It’s a vocab book. There are others, but yes, DH is good. Another highly praised vocab book is essential 500. They will help with vocab in PBR ofc, vocab is vocab regardless of where it is.

For a more comprehensive CR guide I would buy an actual CR book (in addition to a vocab book) such as The Critical Reader.

I recommend getting both volumes if you can afford both (they aren’t too expensive) unless you are <only> missing out extremely hard vocab words. Even if you know most of the words in volume I, it helps to refresh your definitions and maybe discover a few new ones.</only>

Ok thank you.
