Im a junior from Long Island and Boston College is one of my top choices.
Turns out, my moms friend went to BC and is friends with the Director of Admissions and is in the process of setting up an interview.

Your mom is FRIENDS with the director? If this is the case, you probably have little to nothing to worry about. It actually depends on how good of a friend your mom is to the director... would he just automatically let you in? O.o

oh, sorry. I read it too quickly. Okay, so it's your mom's friend.
Is it possible that you could talk your mom's friend into getting you admitted? I'm guessing your uw is maybe 3.9 or 3.8... 29 ACT is too low for BC, but if you can get 32+, then you shouldn't have a problem.

Admissions offices get a lot of these kinds of requests. Sad-but-true example: The daughter of the gardner of the neighbor of a member of the Board of Trustees, who has never even met the trustee. Believe me, there is a lot of eye rolling at some of the requests we receive. While we entertain the requests, that doesn't mean that the additional face time will get you in if you are not already admissible ... and if you are admissible, you will get in anyway. The only possible impact would be a borderline decision ... and then it is up to the interviewee to impress the admissions contact ... being the child of a friend of a friend of the director is meaningless to an admissions decision. Lots of folks have friends who know someone in an admissions office.
