Disadvantages of conservative schools?

You most likely have; you just didn’t know it. ;)

Hey, that could be! :)

About LGBT concerns–

Just because the environment is rather anti-LGBT (and, well, it is a conservative religious institution) doesn’t mean you have to be. In fact, you don’t necessary have to agree with any of the popular views. And for any LGBT students who are there, having an ally around would likely be a huge relief.

As regards rooming with a lesbian–I can guarantee you any potentially gay roommate is probably more worried about doing well in classes, being away from home for the first time and not getting lost than they are about lusting after you. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Your roommate won’t necessarily have any interest simply because you’re female, just like if you lived in co-ed dorms, you wouldn’t necessarily be interested in every guy.

You just met one by the way. If you have questions feel free to PM.

(Tonight has been an exceptionally gay night for me on CC…)

If you’re looking for a school that is conservative without being overtly religious, consider Hillsdale in Michigan. High academic standards and tough to get into, though.

I have looked at Hillsdale, but they don’t offer my major of interest.

There are probably few non-drink-party schools out there save Oral Roberts. Conservative schools are few & far between these days even among traditional jesuit schools. I’d say if you want more diversity of political opinion where your opinion is tolerated then please avoid Berkely, Occidental, Yale, Harvard, NYU, Columbia, Wesleyan.
