This has happened a couple of times now. I log in, and see an indication that I have a new PM. Just now, I supposedly had 2 (numeral superimposed in red on the envelope icon). But when I go to my inbox, there are no new messages, and the numeral is gone. I don’t know whether there are messages there and they are somehow lost, or if the notifications are errors. Has this happened to anyone else?
I had opened a few messages and read them. By the time I was ready to reply, I could not find the messages. The posters probably thought I was ignoring them.

@NYMomof2 don’t you get an email notification with your new messages? My first notification of a CC PM is through my email account which contains a copy of the message. Not sure if that is automatic for everyone or you have to choose that option through “preferences” or “settings”.
Guys, I’ve also experienced this issue. Those messages that disappear are sent from someone that got banned (and his user history deleted). As this action deleted his/her PMs, too, you cannot see their content. The system alerted you before they were deleted, so that’s why you see the notification.
I wish when someone sends you a PM that their PM would always get tacked onto an earlier PM that they sent. (Like FB does)

My PM’s are organized like gmail – any replies back and forth are underneath the original PM. But older PM’s from that same person are not in that same string.
My PMs are all still in my mailbox. I guess none of my messengers have been banned.
@CCadmin_Sorin, I don’t think that could be the explanation (banned users). These are (supposedly) new messages that are not there when I go to my inbox. This has happened several times. In fact, I just logged in now, and saw that I had 2 new PMs. When I went to my inbox, there were no new messages. Unless you are constantly banning users right after they PM me, there has to be some other reason.
Another strange thing is that sometimes when I log in, my message number is in the thousands. Then it will show a number in the 30’s. This happens in the same session. I saw both numbers just now, and at the moment there is no post count on my globe.
I closed my browser and then came back after a while (did not need to sign in again). The numbers were 1600 posts and 2 new PMs. I came into this thread, and now both numbers are gone.
