Disaster strikes again...almost just feel like giving up.

Haha I spent way too many year at Palomar. I know the place well.

Your good bro. I had just turned 27 when I transferred to UCSD. I’m 28 now and I’ll be graduating in March (I’ll still be 28). You can graduate in a year and a half if you go to summer school and kick ass. I commute to UCSD from Riverside County (85 miles each way) and I made it just fine. If you really want something, you can make it happen. Your not that old bro.

Man that’s really good to hear USMC. Makes me happy to know that you were able to accompish it all in such a short period of time. I always planned on going to summer school as well. So it’s not a big deal to give up part of my summer.

Who cares if you’re 36 when you graduate? You’ll have a good degree and you’ll be able to get a better job.

I remember when I was worrying about graduating “in time”, but unless you find a real shortcut (most universities are similar), it’s going to take you however many years to finish regardless of which route you take. I know if I was magically able to start over again and go to a UC instead of community college, it’d probably still take me 6 years in all.

Good luck dude  And keep your eyes/ears listening for opportunities :D

What did you older CCC students do with your lives after high school? Did you guys have tons of fun and enjoy life and now regret it?

I joined the Marine Corps for 6 years right after high school. I dont regret a minute of it.

I had a TON of fun and enjoyed life and I will never regret it. I traveled, played in bands, ran a record label, worked at a record label, did a lot of growing up and experiencing life. I wouldn’t trade any of it.

I went back to school at 28, and it was exactly the right time for me to do it, because I am focused and doing great. I’ll graduate from either Berkeley or UCSD when I am 32. Then, I might work a little or go to grad school or both.

I want to be a professor. I don’t care if I do it full time, or have another job and just do it part time. I love it.

Age is ********. Just do what you love and do it good, and everything will work out fine.

I worked 40 hours a week to help support my family. Fun stuff to do at 17!

lol investment, you got some strange images of people who do not go to college after high school.

This is kind of off topic but I really appreciate people who chipped in their experience. I am in my Final week so I have a lot of stress, I have my last Final tomorrow. Reading through these posts really give me some motivation to get through this ordeal. Good luck to everyone who still doing their finals.

I think I’d love to be a prof someday lol.

I don’t necessarily regret my life before coming back, just wish my school bug would have triggered much sooner.

I’m enjoying this forum, had I known that this place was this great, I would have taken the time to pick a better screen name, now that I know ill be posting more. Just chose mine randomly because I was in a hurry.

‘Memyself’? Haha
