So I really screwed up my first year at UCR. My cumulative gpa for the whole year is 1.933. I heard that if you get lower than a 2.0 cumulative gpa your financial aid will be cancelled until your gpa is higher. Is this true?? I can write an appeal but if it is denied, my financial aid will be discontinued for one quarter til my grades improved.

[Financial Aid - Maintaining Eligibility](<a href=“The Office of Financial Aid | UC Riverside”>The Office of Financial Aid | UC Riverside) says…

If you are academically dismissed from the University, you will lose eligibility for all financial aid awarded for the subsequent quarter, since you did not maintain eligibility to receive federal, state, or institutional aid. You will be responsible to return all funds disbursed for the quarter to avoid being billed. This may include funds already credited to your student account to offset your fees and/or other institutional charges as well as funds issued to you as a refund via direct deposit or check. If you are employed in a Federal Work-Study position, you must stop working immediately upon dismissal.

I won’t be dismissed yet. I’m on STD(subject to dismissal) now.

Well… then I guess AP and STD are somewhat the same… if you got aid for AP, then you should still get aid for STD (as long as you are a full time student).
