I was wondering if most of the people that go to the international students orientation, which is august 24-26 this year, are from overseas, american, or a good mix of both? I want to move in as soon as possible but my parents think that it will be boring because most of the people will be from overseas and not americans. (im from the US btw)

@ Mr/Ms. American, you are really funny.

Thanks for complimenting Internationals are boring.
[Or a weaker statement: spending time with Internationals are boring]

I think (hope) what McGillHopeful means is that the international orientation may be focused on the interests and needs of overseas students. For example, introduction to North American customs and university practices, something that an American student would likely already be familiar with. The orientation may be boring, not the international students themselves.

McGill Hopeful, I’m American (AZ) and I’m going to the international orientation. I think it will be exciting because much of the orientation is going to focus on getting acclimated to Montreal. It ought to be useful when I’m on my own trying to find places in the city. Plus, it will be fun to meet people from different places and cultures even before classes start. It should be a good time.

@tomofboston, that is kind of what i meant. @arsenaleung, sorry if it sounded like i was saying internationals are boring… part of the mcgills appeal for me is that it is such an international school! @maggiesoprano, i’m going too and cant wait to start meeting everyone!

Sorry for the mis-interpretation. Wish you a cool orientation and college life
