Discuss your feelings about application decisions -- ok to cry!

This is the 'official' cry spot. (Just kidding)

WOUAAAAAAA… (just kidden) I’m probably not going to cry. In the worst situation, I’m going to a top-tier university (already get accepted). And this question should be broader. How about people who get accepted? It’s probably more likely to cry if being accepted than rejected. There are 50% chance of me crying of overjoy if I get accepted (that would be the best day in my life ever). If I get rejected, there is 1% that I’ll cry. (that 1% just means that chances are I’m not going to cry due to rejection. I’m well prepared for rejection even though MIT is my dream school) Anyway, just to let it out. It’s completely OK to cry even for boys. Let it out if you want to! Mos of us probably work our asses off just to hope to get in MIT over the last at least 4 years. This is a good place for us to share our sadness and cope with depression. Time is going counting down FAST!

I am not gonna cry.
When I was rejected from Caltech just today, I was smiling; simply because I’d expected that. I know MIT will waitlist me, so I’m not gonna cry. I still have hopes, though. :)

I am not sure why this thread keeps getting closed, but I have reopened it as a place where applicants can discuss their feelings about application decisions.

well this sucks. everything was going great today until 6:28. I found out my science olympiad team was going to states (after winning a tie breaker in my event) and then I got free pie and Rita’s ice cream. Then my best friend got accepted to UChicago. But then I got rejected from MI of T. Damn. Oh well. Everyone else at my school got rejected too so I’m not terribly sad although I know I could do just as well as the students who got adMITted. Sucks to be me

I didn’t cry. But I felt like crying when I got deferred from my early school.

Guys, it gets better - I got a likely letter from Cornell!  :)

This stuff is so freaking random hahaha

@akashaka- When did u get Likely? International?

@BetterThanBest I got one yesterday March 15th. No I’m domestic and it talked about my nomination for the Tanner Dean scholarship

OK, I just wanted to know if they’re for intn too.

W8 a minute, who changed the name of the thread?

I did, sorry. It kept getting closed by another mod for some reason that I do not understand, and I thought changing the title would stop that from happening.
