My S continues to struggle with narrowing his college choices so he has to do as few supplements as possible. He has a huge gap between his excellent verbal and reading skills and his weaker writing skills (slow, needs to use a computer, great stories, uneven essays, struggles with the details of research projects). A discussion-based curriculum with meaningful written assignments and good support would work best for him. What has worked for you or your child?

my older daughter with LD/ADD attended a small lib arts college ( Reed college) with seminar style classes ( not all).
They also were fairly easy to work with re: accommodations.
However- private- & need based aid only.
Also very rigorous.
However- if he has a 504 plan that specifies needed accomodations, they should be able to tell you if that is reasonable.

I do believe Reed would be too demanding but thanks for the input. My nephew, who is a more dedicated student than my son, felt Reed would be too stressful and is happy at another LAC.

emeraldkity4---good information. you mentioned a 504, have you found that a h.s. 504 is considered at colleges, particularly small lib arts colleges?
