I got what I expected except for in an elective. I got a B+! You're probably like... Lame... However, I had straight A's in that class for 3 semesters.

What happened?
One day a substitute was there. We have had plenty of substitutes on Dual Enrollment Arch Drawing. It was a joke class, to be honest. For the past two subs we had we watched movies. They were National Treasurer and one where a girl robs a bank (forget the name).

The substitute didn't talk. Nor did he tell us of an assignment. Therefore, we continued with the "joke class attitude" and played capitalism.

When the teacher came back he was like, "All of you have F's because you didn't do the two papers that were online." What the hell? We have never went online for that class before. The substitute didn't tell us the assignment. How were we suppose to know there was an assignment?

Then he said, "You can not make up this assignment."

Other work brought my F to a D+, and this doesn't show up on the transcript since it is a quarter grade. However, it brought my grade to a B for the semester, which brought my grade to a B+ for the year.

Everyone in the class got a zero on the assignment. Nobody knew.

Is there any way I can possibly change this? Guidance councilor? Make a petition (with others from the class [one is in top 10 students])?

was the 2nd movie catch that kid? with the girl from twilight? I’d tell your parents and get everyone from the class to do the same. Then have the parents take the case to the principal/guidance counselors and the school board if need be. This is obviously wrong and wasn’t anything egregious on the student’s parts.

This isn’t going to be a big problem if you are telling the whole story - Just get your parents and some of your classmates who care about their grades involved and bring it all the way up to the principal’s office - should be solved in no time.

If that’s the case, I agree with powerbomb. If you’re expected to be checking the website, whether or not your class ever had before, then there’s probably nothing that can or will be done.

And if it’s, as you said, a joke class, the colleges likely won’t care.

^ It is a joke class, and it is also an elective. So, colleges will probably not look at it at all. On the other hand, colleges won’t know if it’s joke or not. All they will know is “dual enrollment.” I don’t like having two B’s for a semester either due to my crappy freshman year – I would like to show as much improvement as possible. I would like as many A’s as possible. It also will bring up my rank (very little, but some). This is BS to me…

Seems late to address this now with year end report coming out. I think the time that this should’ve been addressed is immediately after the teacher returned and issued the ‘F’ grade.
