Hi to you ,
I was dismissed from my university due to poor academic performance My CGPA went to 1.86 after failling one class with D and passed others with C’s my term gpa is 1;59 . I am worried about my future . I would like to know what are my options to continue my education . I was a Business administration major with 32 Credits hour . I don’t live in the U.S But i would like to transfer from my university . Thank you very much
It’s hard to help you since you don’t live in the US. Here, your options would include going to a community college, then transferring to another 4 year university. Without knowing where you live and what your options are in your current country, no one can really advise anything sensible.
Hi Katliamom , I am from north Africa Morocco . Is it possible to transfer from my university to a community college in the US ?
Well, you’ve been dismissed, so you’re not really at your university, right? In any case, you don’t really transfer to a community college, you simply go, and then transfer to a 4-year university, usually after 2 years and/or a certain amount of credits.

One thing you need to know right away: it’s EXPENSIVE. And for someone in your situation - looking at community colleges and transferring – there is almost no financial aid.
You should also find out what your visa status is and will be. You need to be enrolled in a university. Most community colleges do not offer housing, and can be a little tricky for international students. You would have to apply, be admitted, demonstrate that you have the resources to support yourself, find accommodations, and secure visa approval. I probably do not need to tell you that students from your region of the world face heavy scrutiny throughout the process. I recommend speaking with an immigration lawyer immediately, if you hope to remain here having flunked out of your university.
Community colleges are intended for residents of various counties. And most don’t have housing because it is intended for locals who live at home.
Go talk to your university or some other university in your area to finish your degree. It is not easy to get into colleges in USA and there isn’t much financial aid or scholarships for students who aren’t performing well. See if you can retake some courses to improve your GPA.
@Red0022 the other question is, why do you want to study in the US? This is in addition to getting a visa approval, finding a place to live, and supporting yourself otherwise.
Also figure why your grades were low. What will change in the future?
