My father passed few years ago, and I made a video beam presentation with 300 photos, some photos of him, some shooting by him, he liked photography a lot. Was a great moment at funeral home.
The most of photos was in digital, but the others in paper, I used a digital camera to make reproductions ( take a photo to the photo).
If you don’t have experience make reproductions, better use a flat scanner.
At my sister’s service I noticed that many people touched the photo displays. It seemed to give them some comfort. Another reason to use copies instead of delicate originals.
Thanks again for all the help here! I just put together several posters with photo corners, which worked perfectly! I would never have known to look for them if you all hadn’t suggested them.
Now I just have to deal with how hard spending the day looking at pictures of Mom turned out to be. My only parent since my Dad died when I was a kid. You’d think I’d have been ready for this forty-something years later, but clearly not.
@garland, sending hugs.
I had the extra time to plan for my mother and my aunt’s wake. I bought several old, ornate picture frames and painted them in various shades of their favorite colors. I used either gold or silver wire that I strung horizontally and stapled to the back of the frames. I had all copies of the photos I wanted to use. I put a small hole at the top of the photo and attached it to the wire using thin ribbon. I did find that family and friends wanted to touch the photos.
