distance between buildings...

from Goldwin Smith Hall to mallot hall
from Rockefeller Hall to Stimson Hall
from Goldwin Smith Hall to Mallot Hall.
Can a person cover all these three distances in 15minutes?

I signed up for three courses that necessitate my commuting between these buildings.
I have 15 minute time interval between two courses.
For some reason, those two joined courses are marked in red
is that because those two classes are too far apart?

YES. I have been reading threads where people ask about distances (which happens every year). I really think people are worrying too much of how Cornell has “exaggerated” the distances between buildings.

You can go from Goldwin Smith to Mallot in < 6 mins, and from Rockefeller to Stimson is probably ~6 mins max (if you consider traffic etc).

yeah i was just concerned because for some reason, those time slots were colored red in my schedule chart. …

Not sure what you mean by colored red. If you have a screenshot, that’ll be great.

I just noticed on my DD schedule she has classes in MVR, then Morrison Hall, then back to MVR. I looked on the map and Morrison Hall is all the way on the other side of the Ice Cream place.

Thoughts on that distance? Probably not a problem in good weather, but what about when it gets colder/windy/icy? Will she still be able to make it?

She can certainly make it. Cornell is doing a very good job in making everything as accessible as possible including during winter (come on. the school has been around for 100+ years, and we all know that winter is a bit longer here in Ithaca. so, they should know what to do)

MVR to to Morrison is probably 10 mins max.

Coool… very first time i post a link to a photo.
just learned it

ok, I just couldn’t recall how long it takes. I have made the trip from North Campus to the Ice Cream shop  plenty of times. Even in the dead of winter when I picked her up for winter break. But I’m just an old guy, so takes me a little longer. I guess MVR is quite a bit closer too.

does seem like the walkways are always clear when I am there in the snow. But sometimes they are a bit slippery.

@maestro0621: Nothing is wrong with it. They just change the color of it. It happens with everyone :)

@usafa2011dad: According to google maps: 13 mins, but people usually walk faster than Google’s prediction  It’s a bit slippery at certain places, but everything will be fine :)

yeah I have that color change on my schedule also. after a few times of it I think it means that the two classes are within the same “time segment” however they choose to define it, but since they don’t technically overlap they are fine.

^Just to add, if they do overlap, the system wouldn’t let you to add them.
