Distance From Alumni Interviewer

My interviewer is about an hour away from my home. This will be my first interview, and I'm just wondering, is this normal?

An hour? You are happy! Mine is a day away! It's true, I'm an international. But anyway, an hour doesn't seem too much too me.

I drove my son just over an hour for his interview last year. I believe the interview was an important piece of his packet, confirming the rest of his application and letters of recommendation. Make the drive!! He had a wonderful interview with an old, enthusiastic alum of MIT.

(conversely, to schools where the interviews that were awkward and tense, he didn't get in...no coincidence??)

Think about it....if one were constipated......one could easily spend an
hour at the toilet through the course of a day....an interview cannot be
all that bad an experience and once you get it over with it has to be a
relief.. :D
