I just got an email inviting me to the 2017 Distinguished Scholars Competition from the weekend of March 10th-11th. Is anyone else going that knows more about it?
I got an email too. Only thing I really know is we might (or definitely will) get bigger scholarships.
At first when I saw this I thought I had not been chosen, but then I checked my spam folder and it was there.

If you don’t mind me asking, what were your grades/test scores/etc. like? Just trying to compare myself to see if I have any chance of also receiving an email.

I wrote all the optional essays, and applied early, about the same time as sbmry1.
What I am curious about, is there a “minimum scholarship” for DS Scholars? I am registering whether or not there is, but I am just curious - it would be a shame to travel so far and pay for a hotel room but have nothing extra to show for it.

Thank you very much! What I’ve heard is that no matter what, everyone that goes gets around a $20,000 scholarship, but I do not believe they stack additionally onto any merit scholarships you’ve received.
I applied right before Halloween and got my acceptance mid-November. I have a 4.2 W GPA, and 33 ACT. I’m afraid if I haven’t gotten an email by now that I was not chosen. 
Was your portal updated with an invitation, or did all of the information come in the email?

@bluehen23 Thanks for the info - and don’t panic, in a past thread someone was receiving their email invite later than others.
@Patagonier did your school’s first semester end/did your school send your midyear report yet? I believe they wait to decide if they invite students or not until after the midyear report (to make sure grades are still good), but just wanted to double check with you since you’ve already been inivted!

D did not get an email for some reason but she did find a notification in her portal. So everyone should check there.
Can anyone who received the email post the response deadline please?

@3548792 Check your portal. If nothing there, you likely didn’t make it, unfortunately. D was accepted to honors.
Just an FYI - I just spoke (im’d, really) with UDel Admissions and they said the last round of invites for Distinguished Scholars will go out by this Friday, 2/10. I asked if the order had to do with when the app was submitted and they said no.
^ Yup, I contacted admissions and they said there are still invites they have to send. Friday will be the last day
Just spoke with admissions. They said that the invitations for Distinguished Scholars have not all been sent out yet, and they hope to be finalized by Wednesday evening. Fingers crossed!
