Diversity at Chapman

Hi, I'm an international student and I've recently received my acceptance letter from Chapman. Though at first I thought attending Chapman was near impossible because of the costs, I ended up getting two scholarships that will cut my expenses by a little more than a half. Also, as a full IB Diploma candidate, I was informed that if I get a high enough score, I can be considered as a sophomore during my first year. So far, Chapman's looking like a very good option for me.

Now that I'm considering attending this fall, I wanted to ask, how's the diversity of the student body (and faculty) at Chapman? How easy do you think it'll be for an international student to 'blend in' and feel comfortable? I'm an introvert and I tend to be quiet in bigger groups, but I can speak fairly well with all different kinds of people. On a scale of "snobby" to "incredibly accepting and open", where do you think Chapman stands?

Hi nerves, Congrats on your acceptance to Chapman! Wow…that’s awesome news that you’ve been awarded those scholarships! Welcome to the Chapman family!

You’ll love it at Chapman! DS has made so many friends, it’s quite amazing for me just to hear about it! You could arrive an introvert and become an extrovert in no time. From what I hear, Chapman has increased diversity quite a bit over the years. You should be able to blend in comfortably. That’s what so nice about having small class sizes. You’ll be able to meet and get to know everyone from your class, unlike a large lecture hall with several hundred students. Keep in mind that no matter where you’re at, you’re going to run into all kinds of people, open or snobby. From what I hear, most students are extremely friendly. :)
