I am a black female high school senior, and I was wondering about LFC's diversity. I've been researching Lake Forest, IL and it seems like a pretty upper-class, white area, so maybe the college has the same demographics? Is there a sizable amount of racism, snottyness, etc.? Thanks in advance!

For demographic numbers, Google is your friend

Although the college is in a very affluent area with loads of mansions etc., it is a very diverse school. Students from diverse economic backgrounds, lots of different ethnicities and internationals. Students do a lot of of internships from Chicago to abroad. Although our daughter chose to go somewhere else, it was one of her top choices at the end of the college search.

The college’s demographics are not the same as the surrounding community. As a private LAC, it is more diverse than others LACs but definitely not like a public school. If you choose to attend, I highly suggest you participate in First Connection, the program that immediately precedes the regular orientation. DD found it fabulous.
