hi, i am prospective SCEA applicant to yale. I'm a first generation Indian immigrant, living in Westborough, MA. Now, I've been to the yale campus twice, and absolutely loved everything about it. The only this is that from walking around, Yale simply doesn't seem to have the ethnic or socioeconomic diversity as some of the other schools such as Brown, Columbia, or even Harvard. Is this true or was it just random coincidence/chance that I didn't see many other ethnicities etc. when I visited?

ummm it was probably just a random coincidence.

if you think about it, all the ivies have really similar applicant pools, and thus also have similar classes w/ comparable proportions of diversity.

^^^not necessarily. I mean, columbia has a lot more diversity than, say, princeton

Yale does have a lot of diversity, but I think you're right in saying that it doesn't have quite the diversity Harvard or Columbia has. But I guess it depends on your standards of what constitutes a lot of diversity.

hmmm ok. is yale also more conservative than the other ones?

Not really. All the schools you mentioned, including Yale, tend to be liberal, however you definitely find a patchwork of political and ideological beliefs. You will find plenty of conservatives, libertarians, etc at any of these institutions, too.
