Diversity Essay.

I was considering choosing the diversity essay on the common app(I'm a junior).
I am a girl with Asperger's syndrome, and have many characteristics one would associate with male nerds. I am also mixed race (Comanche(American Indian), Black, Jewish, and white) but appear white only to most people(Light skin and red hair). I was also raised by atheist parents(and am an atheist). I was raised by nerds and as a nerd. I want to be a physicist, and attend a state public boarding school of math and science. What topic or combination of topics would be best recieved for a diversity essay?

Just write what comes from the heart.

If we must tell you then you might not have a full connection to your essay.

If I were you I would simply free write fro about 10 minutes, after that pick out what looks good and base an essay on it.

Good luck :)

If you ever need anyone to edit your essay for content then msg me :)

Essays like this are really difficult for me, I’m not a ‘from the heart’ kind of person.plus, I don’t want suggestions in essays, I want ultimatums. I really have a problem with the vague and the personal.

OK, I’ll give you an ultimatum. Write an essay about how you epitomize diversity (Jewish/athiest, girl/male nerd traits, ethnically mixed/ginger) yet cannot be defined by any of (or the sum of) your diverse parts, but rather you are the unique “you” that you happen to be.

Send me a draft if you want me to review it. I won’t edit, but I’ll give you my observations.

Good luck.

I was also considering the fact that my parents are both published poets, my father was a professional musician, my maternal grandmother is a painter and sculptor, my younger brother wants to be a puppeteer, and I want to be a physicist, (ie, I’m the only left brain in a family of right brains
)

I don’t know if that fits exactly.

Just add it into what sherpa posted. Write about how it’s a part of you, yet does not define you.
