Diversity is most important for Stanford?

I have been told that Stanford places great emphasis on diversity. For instance, a close friend of mine (Chinese) told me over the summer that he would apply to Stanford. I pitied him, to be honest. His GPA and SATs were 50% of Stanford's average scores. He had nothing exceptional like Intel or AIME or anything of the sort. He said he wanted to major in science. Typical Asian. But he got in. Why? Because he had something not every Asian male had. He had a talent for break dancing.
Stanford places emphasis on diverse/unique beings. I was thinking along the lines of unique ability / unique past / obstacles overcome and stuff like that.
For both those who have been admitted (ever rejected i guess) please post whatever that you think makes you unique from other students who applied.
