Did anyone else get this? I'm so happy.

Dear Marc-Anthony,

You are cordially invited to join us for

Diversity Hosting at Cornell University
Ithaca, NY
April 10-28, 2011

Visiting Cornell during Diversity Hosting will give you the opportunity to experience life as a Cornell student. We will provide limited transportation, housing, meals, and a rich array of opportunities to attend classes, meet with faculty, and converse with current Cornell students about their experiences.

This special invitation is extended to you because of your strong academic and personal record and because you will be admitted to Cornell Universitys Class of 2015. If you are interested in joining us or would like more information about Diversity Hosting, visit: diversityhosting.admissions.cornell.edu.

If you are unable to join us for Diversity Hosting, we invite you to consider visiting us during Cornell Days from April 7-18, 2011. For more information on Cornell Days, please visit: cornelldays.cornell.edu.

We look forward to seeing you in April!

Yup!! And after doing a good 20 minutes of googling around to make 100% sure it was a likely and reading resounding yeses, I’m ecstatic! Those visits are LONG though. I’m worried about missing that much school, we’ll have to see what I can do.

I received the email as well ! Words cannot describe how ecstatic I am. Even as I’m writing this, I’m shaking soooo much Congratulations !

@therazor Maybe it’s the excitement causing the brain blockage (I also thought it was long) but the visit is only a day, the range given is just a listing of days during which it is available.

CONGRATS IT FEELS SO GOOD.

I don’t know what to make of it honestly. Surprised, but a bit annoyed that it puts ‘diversity’ above all. I mean, an acceptance is an acceptance (yay! Awesome April guaranteed and it’s still way before admissions are released) but this doesn’t sound much like a likely letter, more minority recruitment. Whatever. Sweet!

Into which school did you apply? I applied primary/CAS alt/humec, so I’m guessing I got into CAS since I got a likely? :-)

@Jannie, I hear you loud and clear. I still feel though that if we weren’t academically/extracurricularly eligible, we wouldn’t have gotten this, you know?

Primary CAS here, physics major to be exact.

And thanks Maserrano! How could I miss “*(Please note you will only be spending one night on campus.)” I had a momentary brain lapse too. Looks like I have April 20th off for a professional day. Sounds like a great opportunity!

Do only spanish and black people get this?

Do HEOP people get this too, or no?

Good question. I wonder how much ‘diversity’ is included.

Yup xD we had to have done something right besides. Congrats!

Sweet, hoping this is CAS, I’m a chemical bio major w/premed.

Yeah I wondered that as well about only blacks or hispanics. But I’m SOOOOO EXCITED!!! I’m nearly hyperventalating haha. I applied to CALS for Communications

I got one. I am screaming!!!

Yeah!!!

:D Awesome. Lol, congrats nil.

CAS Chemistry and Chemical Biology for me.

I’ve been trying to register for the event and I am confused. Are the weekends seriously 5 days long?! Ah help!

i got one too!!!
undecided but leaning towards a classics major ;p

So do people usaully bring their parents or go by themselves?

it sucks that i probably wont be able to go cause i have WUSTL’s visit (free so of course im going) and during this time I have a state meet for OM…oh well. its gonna be so nice for you guys that are going! : )

So it’s only for hispanic/black/native americnans?

How about Asians? they are disadvantaged in the admissions process but they are still minority and add to the “diversity” of the class, so to say.

the cornell one is free too…
