In a couple of days (around the 14th of March), Cornell will send out likely letters for their diversity hosting event.
Does anyone know what time the emails will be released?

They may be posted today at around 5 pm est today, post here if you do get one!
For those of you not on the east coast: we just had an epic snow storm. Cornell offices were closed yesterday and until 12 today 3/15/17. Its likely the emails were delayed due to office closure.
Any international if gets the email invite pl post
Hey, I got on. I’m from New York. I’m kinda hesitant because I don’t know if this is for real… did I actually get accepted??
The email stated:
This special invitation is extended to you because of your strong academic and personal record and because you will be admitted to Cornell University’s Class of 2021.
You are cordially invited to join us for
Diversity Hosting at Cornell University
Ithaca, NY
April 11-27, 2017
Visiting Cornell during Diversity Hosting will give you the opportunity to experience life as a Cornell student. We will provide limited transportation, housing, meals, and a rich array of opportunities to attend classes, meet with faculty, and converse with current Cornell students about their experiences. If you are interested in joining us or would like more information about Diversity Hosting, visit: diversityhosting.admissions.cornell.edu.
If you are unable to join us for Diversity Hosting, we invite you to consider visiting us for Cornell Days during select days in April. For more information on Cornell Days, please visit: cornelldays.cornell.edu.
We look forward to seeing you in April!
Your admittance packet is in the mail!
I also got the exact same letter. I am also very skeptical, it is not a regular acceptance letter…
Cornell does Diversity Hosting Month every year, you can even Google it. The email you received is an invitation to visit Cornell for one day. It’s not a regular acceptance letter because those have not been sent yet for regular decision applicants with the exception of ILR and SHA applicants. They need to send these letters out early because some people need to schedule flights with Cornell since they are paying for transportation for certain people. No one would try to trick ya’ll lmao and all this information is a google search away.
Just to be sure, if we got an email like the one above, we’re in?
Also, the link in the email doesn’t work.
@tzarbucks they should have sent another email with a working link. I got one.
The link in the email doesn’t work which made me skeptical but if you manipulate the URL and just delete this one part it will take you to the diversity hosting page. Well anyway they also sent a second one that works. I’m shocked I got it since there is such a massive and diverse applicant pool (test scores aren’t everything). I’m so happy especially considering I got my first denial from Wash U yesterday. The bottom of the email says the letters are en route in the mail. So exciting.
Just making sure: a diversity letter is like an early unofficial acceptance, right? Like will I be surprised with a rejection/waitlist when the application portal results come out lol?
Yes, this is a very strong likely letter, as good as acceptance. Congratulations.
If you got the email, you are in. My son got one last year and is a freshman at Dyson this year. Congrats!
Has anyone that signed up for Diversity Hosting received a conformation email?
I got the letter on the 6th, and I have my flight confirmed for the 11th. ILR kind of accepted me already but it’s not official i think…

You are right to be cautious, but that is a Likely Letter. When they say “Likely” they basically mean that although it is not technically official, they are going to admit you unless you do something quite extreme, like committee a felony, before the official acceptance letter arrives. Tell all your friends! You did it!
Yes, it is a strong “likely” letter, especially since they say you “will be admitted.”
To those of you who didn’t get an email, don’t worry. That doesn’t mean your application was rejected.
