I see people talking a lot about diversity.
I have a question: Do Ivy Leagues consider diversity of the international students in the same way they consider it at US applicants? Or are they more interested in just getting the best applicants possible from internationals .I know they consider diversity by country but do they go into it deeper like age, first generation college, gender, background etc. ? Should I put emphasis on diversity also when I write my essay or just on my strengths?
And another question: Is there usually a separate admission committee dealing with international applicants or all the applications (us+ internationals) are viewed in bulk?

Get a copy of the Greene's Guide titled "Making It Into a Top College" and read the chapter on "Applying from Abroad". They favor foreign students in the admissions process since they add diversity to the campus. You should emphasize in your essay what your experiences are and why you want to go to an American school. You need to explain the educational system in your home country and help them correlate between grading there and in the US. You need to make them aware that you understand the meaning of a liberal arts education as taught in the US. There is not a separate admission committee, but the committee will consider foreign students in a separate round.
