I currently have a ~3.8 unweighted gpa. I was wondering if getting A+'s in certain core classes will boost chances at Harvard or mean anything at all.

Probably not. Does yourschool give a 4.3 distinction to A+s on the unweighted gpa? If so, maybe some, but gpas tend to be different for each school and are counted less.

I’m not talking about getting an A+ to get a 4.3 uwgpa (my school doesn’t offer that); I’m just wondering whether getting A+ in a course will boost admission chances versus an A/A-, and whether that would make up for my B+'s making that current ~3.8 unweightedgpa.

They probably won’t even see the A+, let alone give it more credit. Good luck though.

The higher your gpa, the better.

Yeah, but there is no gpa difference between an A and an A+ at the OP’s school, so there would be no difference.

I don’t have any idea what you’re trying to ask. A+s are better than As, even if your school treats them the same in computing your numerical GPA. This is why you send a transcript to Harvard and not just a number.

^exactly. An A+ is better regardless of how your school calculates your average.
