Do admissions only care about your LSAC GPA, and not at all about "normal" GPA?

My school gives out numerical grades, like on a 4.0 scale. For letter grades of A, it correlates to 3.9 and 4.0. A- is 3.5-3.8. But as I understand it, not all schools use the same scale, so the LSAC GPA is supposed to even things out. So does that mean for all intents and purposes of law school admissions, a 3.5-3.8 all convert to 3.6777, and a 3.9 converts to a 4.0? So theoretically, I could get straight 3.9s in all my classes and have them all count as 4.0s? In other words, a 4.0 doesn't look any better than a 3.9?

I don’t honestly expect this thread to suddenly get a reply if it was ignored for so long, but it has over 200 views now and I’m still really curious. I’m sure other people must be as well. Might as well bump it back up now that it’s down on the second page already.
