Dear everyone,
I was wondering if my GPA will be converted when I apply to law school.
For example, currently I’m a freshman attending a school with a
4.0 (A)
3.0 (B)
Sort of scale.
( In which I have a 4.0/4.0 )
Next year, however, I will be following an A/A- scale.
4.0 ( 94-100 )
3.67 ( 90-93)
I’m worried as to how law schools see this? I understand I have to turn in my transcript from both universities,
but will they convert my grade differently?
I’m worried because I currently have a 94 in one of my classes, which might tip to a 93-92??
Although it’s considered a 4.0 here, I’m afraid of how T14 law schools will perceive that?
Any responses would greatly be appreciated.
LSAC has those answers. They process each college you attended separately. They start with the transcript from school one and then add the grades from from school 2 for a LSAC GPA.

I have a related question, about GPA conversion. Does LSAC convert grades from an institution with grades of A+ and without when they calculate numeric GPAs? Since A+ is a 4.33 numerically. Potentially top students from institutions with A+ could get higher GPAs. I wonder if LSAC takes that into consideration.
yes they do. An A+ counts 4.33 for LSAC even if your college only counts it as a 4.0
Well, @bluebayou I am asking - if a school is not offering A+, then the maximum you could get is A. Wouldn’t that be a little unfair since no matter how great you do you can never get a 4.33 while in a school offering A+ you could? Of course, I’m not really complaining about the “unfairness” but wonder if LSAC considers this factor.
^^ If your college does not use an A+, LSAC – really law schools who use the reports – does not care. No A+ plus, no 4.33. And no ‘consideration’. Sorry.
Wait, so I’m a little confused by the scaling for grades from the LSAC grading table. Say I were to get an 83% in my magnetics course, but the grade was reported as an A (due to curving). Does LSAC take the A or the 83% and make it a B?
I believe ( According to bluebayou ) it is what you see on your transcript. For example,
If your transcript simply has marked grades:
A
A-
B
C
LSAC would convert it to
4.0
3.67
3.0
2.0
I need a confirmation about my beliefs, anyone care to confirm?
